This online English support group is meant for anyone who identifies as trans, genderqueer, genderfluid or non-binary as well as those who wonder if they might be something other than the gender assigned at birth. This group is also meant for intersex people. You don’t have to have a definition to your gender – or have a gender at all to take part in this support group.
Minimum age is 16 years, and there is no maximum age limit.
Group principles include confidentiality, right to define or not to define yourself and mutual respect. Discussion topics are decided together with the participants. Common topics for our support groups are gender, experience on gender, possible gender confirming treatments and encounters with loved ones and other people. The aim is to enable peer supportive discussion on themes to reinforce self-understanding and empowerment.
We may divide into smaller groups; therefore, we ask for topic wishes. We try our best to fulfil the wishes but can’t guarantee every wish will be fulfilled.
Only limited number of attendees can be taken to each group meeting. You can sign up for the online group meeting until Tuesday 8 pm prior to the online group meeting.
If there is room for you in this group meeting:
- You will receive instructions and link to the meeting latest on the day of the meeting.
- Please use video. It helps in creating a safe space for the group
- Please test the link before the meeting to make sure we can start on time.
- Please be on time. To ensure the safety of the group we will not admit latecomers.
Online group will be led by Kuura Autere and Alex Karjalainen.
